ACCOMODATIONS
Entering through the companionway and down four steps the main salon is surprisingly roomy with generous headroom. The Catalina 28 boasts a sleeping capacity of six persons. A forward vee berth and aft double birth plus two single settees port and starboard offer plenty of room for two couples or a family. The cabin has four opening ports, plus an opening hatch in the forward vee berth and in the head.
An additional excellent feature is the fully enclosed head and shower.

GALLEY
The galley features a 2.87 Cubic foot ice box, two burner gimballed propane stove and oven. Stainless steel sink with hot and cold pressurized water. Water heater has a 6 gallon capacity. Plenty of counter space to prepare a meal. Storage cabinet below.
ELECTRONICS
The boat is equipped with a VHF Radio, Helm mounted speed and depth indicators, Lighted Danforth 410 Compass with S.S. Binnacle.
ELECTRICAL: AC/DC shore power, Lighting in key spots throughout cabin. Optional Cruisair , portable hatch mounted AC unit available as an additional sale item.
DECK: Notable features of the deck are the walk-through transom, stern boarding platform with fixed swim ladder, and easy access forward on the wide unobstructed weather decks.
Cockpit: The roomy cockpit is a Catalina hallmark. The cockpit seats and coaming are ergonomically correct and comfortable reflecting Catalina's understanding of the cockpit and the importance of these features to the crew.
SAILS AND RIGGING AND HULL: All sail controls, including the single line reefing system, all lead to the security of the cockpit. The rig is masthead with double spreaders and fore and aft lower shrouds permitting powerful headsails and narrow sheeting angles for good windward performance. All standing and running rigging was replaced in 2004.

WHAT MAKES THIS BOAT SPECIAL AND WORTH A LOOK: This boat has been well maintained by the original owners. The boat spent from 1993 until 2004 on fresh water Lake Lanier in Georgia. Since then it has been in a protected marina on Amelia Island, Florida. The boat is regularly cleaned by an experienced diver. The bottom was professionally cleaned and repainted in February 2009. A 3 bladed prop was installed for improved performance under power. All engine hoses were replaced and the water pump new in 2009. The diesel engine only has 410 hours of use. Economical to operate with fuel consumption at just .75 gallons per hour at cruising RPM.
